Marcelle Sheppard, 90, of Collinsville, formerly of Friendship and Vidor, died Monday, September 23, 2019 in Sherman, Texas, USA.

Best known for her Zulu Series of cannas, Marcelle was a noted nursery woman, specialising in crinums, but also a keen canna enthusiast, introducing many new varieties, and was probably the most prolific hybridiser of cannas in the last quarter of the 20th century.  Marcelle was always pleased to help those she recognised as kindred spirits, and she left behind many friends, especially her many gardening friends.
