Canna ‘Charles Henderson’ is a medium sized Crozy Group cultivar; green foliage, oval shaped, spreading habit; flowers are open, self-coloured crimson, throat gold pencilling, staminodes are medium size, edges regular, stamen is yellow with red spots, style is red and yellow, petals red, blooms open in the early morning; fertile both ways, not known if true to type, not self-pollinating.
The earliest reference is from Garden and Forest Journal in 1983, L.H. Bailey. Still being sold by Inter-State Nurseries in 1950, so its probably still being grown in the USA.
