Wayside Gardens 1950. Flowers pale cream, almost white, with a touch of yellow. Foliage green. Medium height.
Ian Cooke, The Gardeners Guide to Growing Cannas
The flowers of this old cultivar open very pale primrose peppered with red dots and fade to ivory-white. Large, blue green leaves. It was raised by Henry A. Dreer in 1918, although other records suggest that is was raised in 1950 by Wayside Gardens. It is sometimes classed as a ‘white’ Canna. A fertile cultivar, it forms many seeds and it is likely that, over the years, the stock has become impure due to the influx of seedlings. This may explain why many stocks are disappointing.
