Canna ‘Mary Layden’ is a small Premier Group cultivar; green foliage, oval shaped, transparent margin, branching habit; oval main stems, coloured green; flowers are open, ivory heavily spotted with rose, staminodes are large, edges irregular, petals green, fully self-cleaning, outstanding bloomer, blooms open in the early morning; fertile both ways, not self-pollinating or true to type, capsules globose; rhizomes are thick, up to 3 cm in diameter, coloured white and pink; tillering is average.

A true miniature, perfect in the front of beds or in pots. Large primrose yellow blooms with large dark red markings standing proud of elegant, dark green, thick, strong leaves.
The flowers are large, with primrose yellow blooms complimented with large dark red markings. Long lasting, and self-cleaning. Foliage is thick and long lasting. Fertile both ways.
