Canna ‘Saladin’ is a medium sized Crozy Group cultivar; bronze foliage, oval shaped, maroon margin, upright habit; flowers are open, pink with carmine spots, staminodes are medium size, edges irregular, fully self-cleaning, blooms open in the early morning; fertile both ways, not self-pollinating or true to type, capsules globose; rhizomes are thick, up to 3 cm in diameter, coloured pink and purple; tillering is slow.

(M) This is one of the best deep pinks with dark foliage. The sugar-pink flowers have darker spotting in the throat and a fine red margin to each of the petals. Narrow petals that do not overlap give the flower a light, airy effect. It has bronze foliage. Becoming more widely available in Britain and Europe.
