Canna ‘Striata’ is a medium sized Foliage Group cultivar; glaucous green foliage, lanceolate shaped, upright habit; flowers are erect, yellow with red stripes, staminodes are narrow, edges regular, blooms open in the early morning; fertile both ways, not true to type, self-pollinating; rhizomes are long and thin, coloured white and pink.

The earliest reference is Subtropical Gardening by Robinson in 1868, which goes on to state that it is inferior to C. picturata-nana of the same colour.
