Canna ‘Strike Gold’ is a small Crozy Group cultivar; green foliage, lanceolate shaped, upright habit; round main stems, coloured green; flowers are open, canary-yellow speckled with orange-red, staminodes are medium size, edges irregular, stamen is pale yellow, style is gold, petals yellow, fully self-cleaning, blooms open in the early morning; fertile both ways, not self-pollinating or true to type, capsules globose; rhizomes are thick, up to 3 cm in diameter, coloured white; tillering is average.

Summary: A new introduction, a small plant with a medium green leaf and yellow blooms with small faint pink spots. Makes a great border plant mixed with smaller annuals, and with its unsurpassed flowering season it rapidly gains the status of the border star.
Size: Small plant, makes at least three new stems in a normal year.
Flower: Yellow flowers with faint pink spots. In England it starts flowering in June and continues until the first frosts, October/November.
Foliage: A medium green leaf, in proportion to the size of the plant and not concealing the flowers, which are held a few inches higher than the leaves.
