Canna ‘Tropical Sunset’ is a medium sized Crozy Group cultivar; green foliage, ovoid shaped, branching habit; clusters of flowers are open, pale yellow and pale pink, throat deep-pink, staminodes are large, edges serrated, labellum is deep-pink with a wide pale yellow margin, stamen is gold speckled with coral-pink, style is gold, petals red, fully self-cleaning, outstanding bloomer, flowers in June until frosts in northern temperate zone, blooms open in the early morning; fertile both ways, not self-pollinating or true to type, capsules subglobose; rhizomes are thick, up to 3 cm in diameter, coloured white and pink; tillering is good.
