New name for Canna genus

I don’t know about you guys, but I am weary of our canna being mixed up with cannabis. It appears that smoking it makes people unable to complete long words and they think they are smoking canna! I get people cracking jokes about me growing canna, and I even had a curious police officer asking about what I was growing some years ago.
The most used name for canna in its native South America is Achira, and it makes sense to me that somebody should set about getting this renamed. I have no idea how that is done, and once again it demonstrates the need for a Canna Club to represent and care for the canna.
